nothing much to say here

There were many things in my mind that I wanted to put down on paper today. I have tried it earlier as well, and I have failed everytime. I can only write prose and poetry when it is for my own consumption, when I write it for that someone special .
I can write like this (1,2,3,4 ) only for “her”. I have found that all my attempts to write for this blog have failed…I guess it is the lack of emotion. I write my poems with lot and I meant it Lots of emotion which cannot be duplicated… I just cannot manufacture stuff for this blog.

“You could not hear the screaming of my silent eyes
You did not see that behind my eager smile
I was crying all the while….”

The problem with the desi cool dude is that he is an idiot. He and the rest of India believe all nonsense that Bollywood teaches them.
An example of this is how after dhoom everyone’s favorite sports bike is the Suzuki hayabusa. Hit me on the face with a shovel but do not repeat these lines on the telly please. We have film stars and wannabes all singing in unison the glories of the hayabusa. Just the other day I spotted a failed model/actor (in chronological order) saying how there were only two types of people those who rode Harley’s and those who rode haybusas…I suppose the rest of the world drowned into the pacific right?
The hayabusa- let me make it clear for everyone- is not a sports bike, it is in fact a sports tourer. A sports bike is light and agile where as the haybusa is a big tank meant for going in a straight line at the fastest possible speed. The hayabusa is home more on the free way rather than the race track.
Talking of sports bikes the gsx r1000 from which the hayabusa is derived is a much better package ,better still would be the ducati 999’s ,the Yamaha r1,the Honda fire blade etc.
And for the information of the failed model/actor/TV host/biker (in that order) there are other categories of people on two wheels… the moto rider, the super motard rider, the streetbike rider, the tourer, the sports tourer, the commuter, the chopper rider. And many more you dundhead.
And for the rest of the “bikers” who happen to read this article… get brains of your own boys …don’t believe everything that the movies tell you or for all we know you would also start playing the synth in a stupid tune to call jadoo!!

I guess most dilliwallah’s would have by now known about the big car scam carried out in Delhi. For those not clued in , one Mr. bhandari apparently got around the customs provisions and imported more than 100 cars into India. Many of these cars are truly exotic and make your beat skip.
The deal is that most of these cars have been confiscated and are currently parked outside of “paryatan bhavan” in the CGO complex.
Know what I have been telling my best friend that I am too busy to come and meet her , but as soon as I heard about these cars I wanted to board the next metro and just feel these beauties. Among the hot cars parked in there is a Lamborghini Gallardo. WOAH! That car is on my computer desktop , I have a murcielago and a Gallardo poster on two separate walls of my room…and I didn’t wanna loose this opportunity.
But then I have to let go….maybe I’ll buy them someday ….when the customs dept. auctions them off 😉
…i’ll kep dreaming

Any one listening

In India we love our movies. Apparently we love the make believe world of movies so much that we have decided to live in one. Its is true we live in a fake world where what we proudly announce or hear others say in never true.
Take for example the loud talks of our so called economic prowess. We are supposed to be the fastest growing economies in the world, barring china, Brazil….and others.
We love this illusion so much that even when reality slaps us on the face rather than react we smile like fools and pretend nothing ever happened that all is rosy…like we are still winning.
We tout ourselves as software czars. Ha! We are nothing but fabricators who build applications according to set specifications, where is out truly indigenous breakthrough software making money?
We are supposed to be getting FDI inflows…well they are just making use of the 10% capital gains provision to lower their tax burdens. It’s a slap when the World Bank finds Pakistan much more business friendly than India, we are better only to Afghanistan and this is a fact. Is it sinking in? We are just a shade better in business friendliness than a country where the Taliban, American bombing and armed hoodlums are a daily routine. Where there is no government so to speak and which is a 21st century rendition of the Wild Wild West.
Even Bhutan which ha no industries is better than us, Are we red faced yet?
Our airports are no match for Chicago greyhound bus terminals and yet we don’t want to change. Our railway stations are more of a giant toilet but we are happy. Our impotent politician no matter how incompetent are still able to beat the Mickey out of us, we don’t care. Our cricketers… (Ughh I don’t want to talk about them) eat all money and give us shit from the other end. We think we are some kind of great power, the largest democracy! And we cannot get the world to support our bid for the UNSC. We are anything but great at the moment, but we like to pat our own backs live in this lie…”we are the best why try harder?” and we keep falling down the spiral.
We are recognized in the world, it true. But only as a bunch of no good people who are apparently not good at anything. We tom tom our IIT’s and IIMs as the best in the world they do not rank anywhere in the best in the world except maybe near rungs of a tall, tall ladder.
Our best cities are crippled by a few days of rain and we want to make them metropolises!
When are we going to wake up and smell the stink around us, do we want to live in this cesspool? When are we going to stop pretending we are the best and actually become the best?

the real scrap daddies

I was reading in the newspapers recently about the truly exorbitant amount our bunch of losers (read the cricket team) earn. That big small guy tendulkar makes about 12-15 crores per year! And that is the total amount earned by leader paes and Mahesh bhupathy …while lee hesh have won many grand slams together and individually sachin tendulkar or for that matter anyone in the Indian cricket team does not have anything to show for the ridiculous amounts that they earn every year. The media often term the boys beaten black and blue as a bunch of chokers. I think they are not chokers but in fact jokers. I pity our other sports people who are not able to make money just because the f*****g cricketers ate them all. To see athletes suffer and not develop because of lack of sponsorship is cruel. I believe the money that these asses earn must be limited the amount of endorsements should be regulated so that other sportspersons should be allowed to make money. For unlike the cricketers who have enough facilities and finances to prepare …athletes like anju bobby george , R.S.rathode etc. have to run from pillar to post to get money to train , buy equipment and pay for coaches fees etc. others like narain karthikeyan who despite solid backing make no money at all since it goes into financing their teams. These individuals show far more gut determination and dedication to their sport to carry on in search of excellence in spite of such hardships unlike our favorite cricketers who make bank loads of money without winning a single trophy.

God has a heart even for loons

Looks like Pat Robertson’s prayers have been fulfilled. Judge William Rhineqest( did I get his name right?) is dead . lets check out our super scope loony cam to see if Robertson is celebrating!

Cant Smile For Some time

Just got back from getting expensive surgery done on my teeth to ensure that, they do not look like Madonna’s gapped ones. I can now Say that I have a stiff upper lip(okay okay its just a numb upper lip). I cannot eat anything till late night today, but I get to eat ice cream. I also have to keep my mouth shut …now THAT is a real problem

Picture this!

A Punjabi music video. The singer dressed in a bhangra outfit. A couple of actors running around trees. A dance troupe dancing in the background, wearing a silly grin.
The girlfriend cries. Tries to pacify the angry boyfriend. Sings a song. Another dance.
Look into each others eyes. Embrace. Walk into the sunset together. The guy is wearing a Tee all this while. It says “DUCK MY SICK”. how romantic!. Someone give me a tissue I need to cry.

I also happened to see this episode on DD of some stupid show long time back. The cable had gone down so I was whiling away my time on DD. This dude had been kicked out of home by his father, for some lame reason I don’t think I’ll be able to remember. What I really REALLY remember is the scene where the dude is walking don the road . crying, lugging his heavy bag and a heavier heart, with music playing in the background like someone just died. There he went walking toward the camera wiping his tears off. Sad, I would have felt sorry for the guy ….only if he had not been wearing a shirt which said “I AM GOING NUCKING FUTS”!!

And we thought Bombay had bad days

Frankly I feel sorry for people who have lost it all, but it’s not like it should be ….something is missing. The sympathy is somehow overpowered by a horrid smugness “now they know what it is like on the streets with no food, water….”
I was not alone in fact Dubya who is a self confessed fan of the tradition of the siesta was sleeping till Wednesday- on vacation, days after the tragedy.

As I saw the images on CNN, those poor, mostly black people holed up in temporary shelters. I was reminded instantly of images from similar encampments in Africa like Somalia and more recently in Sudan.
One of the CNN hosts interviewing the U.N. Relief commissioner asked him what the U.N. was doing to help America…. HA! You are the richest country in the world, with more friggin money than we can imagine and now YOU are BEGGING for help!
This was repeated by the commissioner who also stated the fact that no request had actually been made by the United States federal government.
The reporter went on to ask and I quote
“Is the feeling of sympathy somehow deterred by the view on U.S. policies in Iraq?”
Hell yeah baby! After 9/11 the whole world was with you, how the winds have turned today! Nobody wants to be America’s friend and somehow it’s our problem not Americas!
The commissioner was also asked why nobody has come forward to help the U.S. while the U.S. is expected to chip in every time there is a catastrophe in the rest of the world.
Well let me answer. After the tsunami bush announced he was going to pitch in with the princely sum of 150 million dollars…what? You are spending a motherfu****g EIGHT BILLION dollars in Iraq and this is all you have to give? Though he later raised the amount to 400 million dollars (like that’s a lot!) he was yet to release most of it till this may.

My message to all Americans: its not the world but your own leader who has failed you. Stand up, organize, and clean up the beautiful city of New Orleans coz the Texan aint coming.
